Does anyone know how to extract the audio from an .flv file?
Or how to convert an .flv to .swf, .avi, or .mpg?

Use mplayer's (That's NOT Windows Media Player!) bundled mencoder, for instance.

Can you recommend a good GUI frontend (both/either for Win32, Linux) for mplayer?

In KDE I use Kmplayer.  I thought Mplayer had it's own built-in GUI?

Nope, there's a winders version compiled with mingw. I use it at work because I haven't found anything better. VLC sucks, BSPlayer is acceptable but still not as good as mplayer.

Yeah so here: http://www.mplayerhq.hu/MPlayer/releases/win32/

How about Media Player Classic? I don't know if it plays FLV files but it pretty fucking rocks for a player.

MPC plays FLV if you have the fucking right codec.

I'm not trying to play flv, i'm trying to rip the audio out of it, or convert it to another format.
