Utility to disable powersaving?

are there any utilities out there to automatically disable the screensaver (or more specifically, having the monitor automatically turn off with the power saving options), while any kind of video is playing? some programs have options to automatically turn off the screensaver, but not powersaving. my monitor is kinda on its last legs and my electric bill is too high so ideally i'd like to keep it off as much as possible.

winamp for example has an option to turn off the screensaver while the video is playing, but it doesn't seem to affect the "monitor off" powersaving mode.

having to turn it on and off manually all the time is a pain in the ass because inevitably i forget to turn it off, and the monitor shuts off in the middle of a movie, i turn it off, then forget to turn it back on when im done and leave it running all night.

You don't need a utility. Assuming you have Windows, right-click the desktop, go to 'Properties', then click the 'Screen Saver' tab, then click 'Power...'. There's a combobox next to 'Turn off monitor:' that has a 'Never' option.

"White" labeled stuff was only for use of white people. Stuff marked "colored" was for everyone else, mostly black folk. Everybody else was Colored People or "People of Color". That is why I call people that are not white people of color. That, and the fact that most of the races I can think of have either been enslaved or opressed by people of european descent.
