Don't use the AIM software, It sucks and is vulnerable. Use iChat or AdiumX. Both have AIM support an are better than that crappy AIM software.
I'm curious? Did he just send you the links or make them your opening page?
Don't forget to block popups and junk. Never heard a case of Safari being taken over, myself...
Tho, It should still be possible to catch macro viruses on apps that share simularities (Like MS word for Mac and PC). Other than that, a virus would have to be specially tailored for the OS X platform.
If that guy is getting all agro on you, just block him, disable file sharing and put up a firewall. That should solve his problem.
