I've noticed the Windows console Unicode font is never antialiased in Windows 2000 (even at large sizes), while it is on Windows XP (without ClearType). On the other hand, on Windows XP you don't seem to be able to use fonts other than Lucida Console.
Do you know what's system file(s) in charge of the console windows? I could try playing with them to see if I can get antialiasing in Windows 2000.
