Spare laptop screen conversion

A few years ago, my laptop (which I'd inherited from my brother and was quite old) decided to up and die, frying its motherboard. Just for shits and giggles, i took apart then entire thing, saving the parts just in case. Well, years later, I've been wondering if perhaps I can get adapters and such to turn this leftover 12" screen into a useable second moniter for my current laptop. Thoughts/suggestions?

Why? That's a fucking horrible idea. Why would you want some shitty 12" screen hanging off your laptop displaying your bullshit at 640x480?

my 12" monitor shows 800x600 as well! (btw I'm not >>1)
