Recently, every day when I open Azureus, there's an update. Is it just me, or is Azureus really releasing updates every day? I just want to make sure nothing is wrong with my program.

its called development. Unlike closed source project, opensource get their code out the morning it's done and tested.
If you think something is wrong, check the version IDs and names. If you're lazy, nuke your App Data and reinstall.
If you want to disable updates uncheck "check for updates." People are running Azureus 1.5 just fine.
