Whats wrong with XP?

Im getting a new comp soon and its OS is XP. I've only heard bad things about XP so is it really as bad as people say? Whats actually wrong with it anyway?

Also, whats the best OS out at the moment?

XP isn't bad, if you've used other Windows versions for a while. It's very user friendly. It's a vast improvement over ME, this coming from someone who had to use the latter for a few years. Hell, ME crashed on me every day. I think XP maybe has done it once? Maybe?

I've heard alot about the various Linux distros but don't know much about them personally.
