What's the best video player?

Just a question, stupid codecs wont work on the one I have now (WINDOWS MEDIA PLAYER, LOL) just wondering what one I should get.

mplayer (or MPUI) + win32 codecs or VLC.

Media Player Classic with Real Alternative and Quicktime Alternative.

VLC also, in case MPC doesn't work.

Quicktime (available directly in iTunes)

K-Lite Codec Pack. Google it. Never worry about codecs again.

I like RealPlayer for videos on my machine and DVDs. I use WMP for streaming movies.

RealPlayer sucks just like Quicktime, only on a lesser scale.

Get Media Player Classic, the bloatless, feature-rich, high performing, simple, non-intrusive, non-shitty, free media player.

quick question:  whenever i try to play an AVI, the audio is not in sync with the video.  anyway to fix this?

Hey guys wtf plays an uncompressed .avi? I saved a bunch of movies using FRAPS but when i send them around others are claiming they cannot view them? I thought all computers could view avi but apparently not!

Unless it's happening to many of your vids, it's most likely a problem in then video file itself. Can fix with... something, VirtualDub maybe, I've never used it.

AVI is just a container format. The contents of the file are video and sound, and each is encoded in a different format for which you need a codec. If you compress your AVIs with a codec that your friends don't have to decode, they won't be able to see (and/or hear) it.
