Mplayer

Name: Anonymous 2006-03-27 9:18

So I've been running ubuntu for around 9 hours now, just got wireless to work and am getting a bit better with the file system.

Now I've got to install MPlayer.
I've got the source, codecs, and fonts.
How exactly do I install the source?

I figured it'd be dpkg -i [filename]
but that's returning that it's locked by another process?

Lookin at tutorials, but what I've found so far is completely skipping that first bit :(

I thought that mplayer was available through apt with Breezy. You might need to enable a couple of repositories in Synaptic first.

If you really want to install mplayer from source, first install gcc, then unpack the sources and run ./configure && make && make install

I didn't realize it was available that way. Thanks :)

Since I'm new though, I'll prolly go the harder way just for some practice :D

Don't change these.
