what's so great about foobar2k

Name: Anonymous 2006-03-27 2:43

I can't edit tags without having to go through a timely process.
if there is any error with playing any song in a playlist, playback stops.  not too good if you want to listen to music in a faulty playlist when you sleep.
no way to automatically scan certain folders to add music to a database.

it's just faggotry.

Mass tagger is awesome.
You can set it to NOT halt on errors...
Is it so hard to enqueue your music files a single time to add them to the database?

Havent used it yet, but 0.9 is meant to have a nicer database.
Everything else >>2 said is true.

mass tagger is good if you want to set multiple values to a lot of songs, but what if you want to change the artist field for just one song?
how do I set it to not halt on errors?
and yes.

plus, if I want to search for and play one song, on winamp I click on the media library and type in the song, click the song, it plays.
on foobar2k I click components, database search, type it in, right click on the song, click play, it plays.  jesus christ.

Foobar is a great player. It can do everything, including the kitchen sink, and do it well.

The only issue is the interface. The default interface isn't all that hot.

THE DEFAULT INTERFACE IS GREAT!
And I'm not joking, I love it. All i need to see is playlist, progress bar and playtime. Everything else I do with keyboard shortcuts or by right clicking. I do not need the bloat and the faggorty of players like winamp and itunes and all that other crap.

I want the same on linux.

It's a simple interface, but it takes too many clicks to get anything done beyond the very basics.

You can bind keys and change the interface to get around this, but that isn't default anymore.

And yes, I'd like the same on linux. Too bad it isn't going to happen.

Don't change these.
