random restarts?

my friends comp decides to randomly restart, when he's updating windows. it automaticly starts updating, too. im doing some random tests to see whats causing it.

turn off auto restart in System Properties,  If it really occurs, a blue screen will occur instead of restart

Under Advanced>Start Up and Recovery Settings> Automatically Restart (and people don't believe that the option exists)

it does.

i figured out the error. one of the windows updates was doing it. so i had him unplug his intarweb. even while it was unplugged, it downloaded the update and installed it. no more random restarts.
