Usenet?

I just found out that my isp (verizon) provides access to usenet and I need recommendations on the many readers. I also need to know the meaning of the different terms used to describe the limitations on the access of usenet imposed by my isp. What do you usually do on usenet?

Anyway, Grabit is a fairly good way to get binaries. It sucks with text, but that's not what it was designed for.
