Windows Vista

Anybody planning to pick up Windows Vista as soon as it's released?

Numerous sources have stated the advantages for Windows users, but who actually going to be an early adaptor?

I myself am waiting at least a year to see how well it performs.

I'll only get it if it's bundled with a system.

Never jump onto a new operating system the moment it's released. Leave it 1-2 years to gauge the situation and wait for the major flaws to be uncovered (and hopefully fixed).

I'm going to play with the server version once it's stable, but that's only because I test stuff for MS. lol

I'll get it if I have the money for it just laying around...

Otherwise, nah.

That's why I'm waiting, but think of it this way.  You're going to be paying the same amount for an OS you can get 1-2 years earlier.  They have online updates to patch flaws, so it's not like pernament problem.

Except that those 1-2 years are going to be buggy and unpleasant.

A lot of us need to get things done, not work around bugs (or even worse: data corruption). It's better to let others be guinea pigs and do the suffering.

I'll get it the day it's out. Done that will all previous versions and never had significant problems. All the nerds I know tried to be hardcore like ZOMG I'M NOT INSTALLING THAT SHIT and a year later, the silently installed it without ever telling me.

No, not saying money is the problem.
I know that eventully I am going to have to get it(Halo 2 is the only reason I need, thankyou), but I'm in no rush to get it.
I will have a good 1-2 years before I start seeing real big lack in new software for XP, but until then, don't see why I need to rush.
I'll just start by saving my change for it...
