Path help

Name: Anonymous 2006-02-26 23:31

I downloaded a torrent with 12 zips. The images in the zips are fine but the path for each image has characters that windows dosn't recognize. So when I try to extract I get an error for each image. Is there a way to change the path in winzip so I can extract them? I'm on windows 98se (yes I know, shit) so I can't exactly turn on japanese language support.

That's what happens when people use shitty ISO-8859, Shit_JIS, or any (naturally, shitty) encoding that's not Unicode.

I'm afraid you'll have to set your OS to whatever locale the ZIP file was created with, and you can probably only guess what it was (try Japanese/Shift_JIS). You probably can't do this with Win98SE, but why are you running that POS, Windows 2000 takes virtually the same RAM and is a real OS, it WILL work in your hardware.

Don't change these.
