I am working with CS2 at my firend's PC, and as a PS7 user I find myself mildly lost. How do I link two layers?

They moved the link button away from next to each layer and to the bottom of the layers palette now. Just select the appropriate layers, and click the chain button on the bottom right of the layers palette.
