So, I was just curious if anyone else has this drive, Matshita UJ-811b. For the longest mine has refused to read anything, it'd give me "I/O Error" clicking the drive.
Now, windows will show it if I tell hardware manager to refresh, I can access the drive without the io error, but it displays nothing. A few minutes later it no longer sees the drive, and any window open to the drive closes as if it were removed. I thought it was a firmware/dead drive issue, but reading around I see there is an issue with SP2 as well.
So I was wondering if anyone has the drive and might have sp2 compatible drivers, I've been googling for hours and can't find anything. Panasonic industrial says to see the laptop maker, and toshiba (I have a p25 s507) is full of a bunch of morons who won't give me a straight answer because my warranty is up (yeah, see if I give you another 2500, shitfaces.)
I've also heard the uj-815 drivers work for the 811b, but I can't find those either. Any help would be much appreciated.
(I have tried cleaning the drive, and older drivers I had laying around, and there are no available firmware upgrades, so drivers or dead drive are all I can come up with.)
