Robot kit that allows PC control?

Name: Anonymous 2006-02-19 20:08

I'm not quite sure if this really fits on Computers...but it does still involve one, so... Anyway, I'm interested in robotics and have already played around with various light sensing and line-tracking kits. But I'm interested in one that can be controlled with a computer. I've already seen some in Radioshack, but those are controlled by a microcontroller, and I'm not interested in those. Yes, I've tried Google and have come across these things called Servo Controllers, but I'm not sure if that's exactly what I should be looking for, or if any ready-made kits are available.

Wrong place, this should be in /tech/

Lego Mindstorms? There's the "immediate" control method, as well as the downloaded-programs route.

oh man, I had so much fun with the lego robot stuff in junior high.

Don't change these.
