Hard Drive Dying

Name: Anonymous 2006-02-03 17:24

My hard drive is dying, and I'd like to thank Circuit City for selling me that apparently only has a one year warranty.

Anyhow, so far everything seems to be not so bad, I’ve only found a folder of random music that had a file I can’t work with anymore.

Is there anything I can do so save the disk from getting worse?

Any way to section of the bad sections so I can continue to use the rest normally?

Thanks

You're doomed.  If it's started dying, it's only a matter of time before it goes all the way.  The ojnly way to save it from getting worse is not using it.

I *strongly* suggest *immediately* recovering anything you can from the drive and backing it up.

It's not uncommon for the drive to die in the process of trying to save your files, so get your most important ones first.

Don't change these.
