sata drive gone!

i just woke up an hour ago, and started my machine, to find it booting much much slower the usualy. after it gets up, all my programs running, i when to open my first of two 160 gig WD drives, and one of them is missing from my computer.

i did a reboot, nothing. reboot, whent into bios config, was not listed as a drive there. started up in optimized mode (fixes almost everything for me), nothing. looked in disk management, saw it as unallocated (NO! NOT MY EVA RIPS!). looked in hardware management, saw it, said it was running fine, but could do nothing to it.

i also did a system restore, nothing, and i tried unplugging the cables from the back of the drive. i get the two beeps from unplugging an replugging, but nothing new. doing this to my other working hard drive makes it go away, untill its pluged back in, and quickly jumps back on.

If it's not showing up in BIOS, it's fucked. Bad luck.

Try jiggling the cables, or just removing it from the box and letting it rest for a while (it might have heat problems). That's always fixed things for me.

just wanted to say iv unpluged my drive, and im letting it sit. its the same temp as the others, but i cant hurt to try.
