Is There anyway i can make my shite AOL connection work with Ubuntu? It;d be great if i could stop using microsucks winblows

Either go into a terminal and use pppconfig or install a graphical front-end (which I recommend) such as gnome-ppp. Cannot help you before because I have never used the ISP.

will not work as the aol client is need to access teh internet
use something like www.dialup.cc which is also much cheaper

Back in the olden days I took AOL free trials a couple of times while waiting for my soon-to-be ISP to get its thumb out and set up my broadband connection, I was able to connect through dialup + internet exploder. Maybe it's different here in Britard though.
Anyway fuck AOL, get a proper connection and a router/DSL modem.
