Ok, so after installing Beyond Good and Evil and playing it for a while, my laptop's graphics suddenly get fucked up. Basically there are lots of tiny red streaks/dots all over my computer's screen.
I uninstalled the game, and briefly, the problems went away almost (The stuff was still visable in some program icons, and on internet web pages).
After backing up my data, I applied some patches (Video Card, BIOS, etc.,) from my computer manufacuter's site. After a few restarts, the screen went black after starting up, like the screen would go black, show the red stuff, then go black again... I waited up to about 5 minutes, and still no change.
Finally I said fuck it, and completley wiped everything clean with a full-reinstall. The red stuff on the screen remains. For all intents and purposes the computer still works, but some stuff is still messed up. The default screensaver after the full clean sweep is messed with, with polygons and stuff flickering.
Now, I WILL be taking my computer into my college's resident tech guy (Who will be able to fix it one way or another).
My question is this: Do you think its still the video-card/drivers, or is it the physical monitor? I clean out my fans once a month and do the usual defragmentations. Obviously, the catalyst was the BGAE Game, but I don't know if its the cause or not, as I very breifly experienced the same thing a month or so back when I played GUN.
Other strange things about the graphical problems is that refreshing my desktop several times will SLIGHTLY clear up problems, but after a few times it barely changes.
This has me really puzzled.

OS/CPU: Windows XP Pro SP2, Pentium 4
Video Card: ATI Mobility Radeon 9700 (BGAE has this listed as supported, btw)
1GB Ram
