Mmkay. I've finally decided to start downloading music again. And I wanted to know, since I've used Bearshare, iMesh, WinMX, Limewire, and haven't figured out how people get eMule without paying.. something I'm Missing? And I just wanted to ask if anyone had a different music-downloading program that isn't bugged, full of all kindsa mal-ware, etc. Please kthx.

Soulseek.

One question. How the fuck do you NOT find emule without paying? the first damn link on google is the emule site and it has never cost a dime.
Here I've extracted the link to the main download site from google for you.

The real question which network to use, and for music Gnutella is the best one (I use the FrostWire client which is made by former LimeWire developers), in second place comes eDonkey (in this case (I) use eMule).

And yes, I have research data to back up my claim.

Is it as shitty as LimeWire?

linux people are fags. They always whine and bitch about "OMG GPL! GPL! U STOLE MY SHITTY CODE SO IT SHUD B FREE". When it comes to pirating music over GNUtella (linux affiliated) network, they don't consider themselves to be stealing anything.

linux and the whole open sores community are a fucking joke especially to real companies who use windows.

I work on a real company, and I'm using Linux. Then again, I'm not a lunix user.

I can say that the guy who owns the company is probably using windows. Unless you work for sun or apple lol.

He does, but he's not a techie.

BTW, I'm not a Lunix taliban or anything, in fact I like Windows NT better for anything but servers and that's what I use in my workstations at home. I'm just saying you can do real work on Linux too.

i use phex.  it's a gnutella client with an easy-to-use UI and you can still download illegal content.  enjoy.

Eh. Well, I'll try a few of those I guess. But Limewire sucks, in locating not-so-popular bands. If it does have the music, its one or two songs, and half the time they are mis-named or shitty versions. That, and I must not be reading something write when it comes to all the E-mule shit. I might just go back to Bearshare, and keep my Anti-Mal shit on while I do it. Bearshare tends to have whatever I'm looking for.

If you're looking for non-popular music, Soulseek wins. Especially for electronica.

Yup, I'd have to go with Soulseek for most things.  Definitely go for eMule on the side though, as it contains wonderfully rare and strange things I never expected to find online.  eMule is where I go when I can't find a torrent of what I want.  Sure, it'll take longer, but it's worth it.
