Bitcomet

I'm using bitcomet right now and since yesterday its acting really slow and choppy. It still downloads stuff but when I open up the window, it never goes back to the start menu bar so I have to do ctrl+alt+delete to shut it off all the time. Why is this happening? Anyone? Oh and does the upload amount affect the dl amount(speed wise. like would I get a lower dlspeed if I set upload speed limit from 100kb to 50kb?)?

| Oh and does the upload amount affect the dl amount

Two things: Higher upload (bittorrent give/receive system) yields higher download. Higher upload (bottlenecking bandwidth) yields slower download. You have to find the equilibrium between the two, this depends upon your own personal rates.

As for your BitComet issue: uninstall, back up your torrents, delete the Program Files and the Application Data folders. Reinstall.

Bitcomet has no spyware.

Most popular bittorrent clients have no spyware. But there are exceptions...

Bitcomet is great, because of DHT support(get into private trackers!)
but some trackers are banning it for the same reason

Name: Anonymous 2006-01-05 14:23

here's an idea: sign up for the private trackers.
GASP, AWE

utorrent does DHT as well, btw.

Banning clients is stupid, because it'll just lead to client spoofing.

Name: Anonymous 2006-01-05 15:14

client spoof detection is easy

That's not adware you dumbass.
>>10
It appears that private trackers do not agree with you, I have a spoofed client and I have been detected on none of the ones that normally block it.

Dito, I have been spoofing since the earlier bitching about bitcomet and have yet to be banned for anything aside from letting my ratio go too low.

Name: Anonymous 2006-01-05 20:39

>>13
Banning for low ratios is stupid too. Bittorrent was designed with leechers in mind; If you can get the whole file with a low ratio, it just means that the network is healthy enough as it is, with no real need for more seeds.

It just proves that most of the people running trackers know shit all about BT.

It is simple, uninstall Bitcomet and install Shareaza

Name: Anonymous 2006-01-06 9:48

Is there a way to spoof the ID of bitcomet?

Name: Anonymous 2006-01-06 15:54

use uTorrent. it is vastly superior to all other clients.

Set max connections per task to 100 or lower, see what happens.
Too many connections can jam a BT client pretty nice.
