WiFi Help!

ok, here's the deal: I bought a DS and want to play via wifi, but at my school the connection from my room is complete crap. I have a USB wifi adaptor:

but does anyone know if I can use this to create my own hotspot, or do I need to buy nintendo's lil' USB thingy. thnx in advance.

I'd really like to know about this as well, I've heard of really cheap USB wifi adaptors... but I usually can't find any sites that carry them, blah blah... ebay helps, but not much, google does NOTHING
