Are you a graphician? Have you actually used GIMP for something serious? Part of my bread making consists of this, and while my predisposition towards GIMP as free software was very high, I found it so limited, counter-intuitive, and clumsy, I couldn't, despite how hard I tried, like it; that's besides the fact it lacks 40% of the features of any of the others.

I have some kind of weird admiration for the fact you've managed to use it regularly. I also suspect now that you're used to GIMP, if you tried Corel Paint Shop Pro X, you'd find it ridiculously easy - as if it almost did the job for you.

Cheer up GNAA/Linux user; I really wanted to be able to use GIMP so I could get rid of some more commercial software, but I really couldn't do my job with it. I don't have time to get involved (already looking for some time to join the ReactOS dev team), but it's also a matter of design: the interface would need to be completely reworked (and OMG, use a master window this time!), and key parts of it such as the layer system needs to be redone. They need to add a decent vector system (preferrably similar to PSP's), and many other things. Might as well start with a new one.

I've had to do more hacking on Windows -- daily! -- than I've ever had to do on Linux. Thank you. Move along... Next!
For an enterprise environment, of course. You'll indeed need more hacking on Windows. For your personal workstation, it's the other way - Windows is closer to what I want (and works much better at it), although I still tune and change many things until I get it how I like it.
