SATA and XP problem that needs solving

Name: Anonymous 2005-12-23 18:20

Here's the scenario. I've got 2 hard drives. 1 SATA and 1 IDE. The sata drive is split into two partitions, 1 for windows and 1 for ubuntu. The GRUB is installed into the MBR on the SATA drive (stupid, but thats the case) and the grub config file is on the linux partition.
When I try to load up the recovery console from the winxp boot cd to fixmbr, I can't logon to my XP partition because it won't recognise the SATA drive, even after loading the motherboard SATA drivers.
What I am trying to do is wipe the linux partition and resize the XP partition to the full size of the SATA drive and install ubuntu 5.10 onto the spare IDE drive, all while keeping my XP installation intact.

hello dere,
By acknowleging that you are offended by >>4 you have in fact been sucessfully trolled. Additionally, this has occurred in your very own thread no doubt! Remember, in order to rid yourself of a troll, you should just ignore them and they will starve under the world4chan bridge. They cannot eat compliments or "lol"s but when you laugh at a troll, you laugh at the trolled!
Without further adieu, let us have a look at the current thread scoreboard:
------------------------------------------------------
TROLLS      COMPUTER NERD HERO OF THIS FORUM <<1,5
      1                          -2
------------------------------------------------------
point deduction explanation:
-1 for being offended on an INTERNET FORUM <-lawl
-1 for going through each thread and trying to play interweb detective therefore wasting time and resources. Actually no since >>1,5 has no life and still retains his virginity after 30 years - possibly due to homosexuality.
