Point Of View GeForce 6600 GT AGP - Good?

Name: Anonymous 2005-12-22 7:48

I am looking for a graphic card. I don't want any expensive ones or anything, just something that runs Lineage2 well or exeptionally well. As you can see on the subject, there, I have already found one, but of course, I need the computer experts of 4chan to check it out. Is this good? Will it run Lineage2 good? My other graphic card just broke down, and it was about time I got a new one.
Say what you think, or if you can come up with anything else for a Lineage2-gamer, then please state it.

-Thanks!

It'll run lineage 2 alright, but well is another story alltogther, L2 has shitty bugs and crashes like from time to time for no particular reason so you'll have to push your luck on that one. Gefore 6600GT is fine otherwise.

I have been gone buying shitty presents to small bastards that just HAD to ruin my life...

Now where were we? Ohh yeah! So the card is an allright card and is worth getting? I don't need much in a graphic card, just something that will run avarage games fine (Like Half-life2 and Lineage, etc)

I'm planning to get it then.. Thanks

A 6600GT will run Half Life 2 just fine.

Just fine or well?
What would you recomend?

It'll run it well, that goes without saying, a 6600GT is the best card in 6600 series and 6600 is 3rd in the NVIDIA desktop series lineup. 6600GT is probably still the best choise for money to power ratio. There might also be equal ATI cards I'm sure but unfortunately I am not up to date with that. I'd personally get the 6600GT, or perhaps a 6800 series card if I really had to have that edge in performance - anything above that is just ridiculously expensive. Altough a PCI-E card would be a better choise if you had the slot for it, you can still use an AGP card for a while.. altough once you want to upgrade it'll be completely useless I guess.

Dude, you just made the biggest mistake in the world.  Half-Life 2 is not an "avarage" (god, learn how to fucking spell, idiot) game.  It eats CPU and graphics RAM for breakfast, lunch, and dinner.  The only thing that consumes more is Doom 3.

right now an ATI radeon 9800 card has a decent pricetag. Fuck all other cards on the market now since none of the games actually use it to it's full capability. If you want that - buy an xbox360.

Sapphire Radeon X800GTO..
Does this one sound good? A friend of mine can sell it to me for a cheap price. I just might buy it, since there are a lot of people I know who is recomending it. It has PCI-Express, which I have NO CLUE on how to check if I have it..

God damn it, I'm SOOO sorry that I mispelled "Average", and seriously? Half-Life2 consumes alot of CPU and garphics RAM? I never knew.

I think you mixed the numbers.. You're recomending the ATI Radeon 9800? The price is okay, and the card itself looks okay, but I would really want to find out if I have the PCI-Express thing. This computer is over 2 years old. Is this PCI-Express something new? How do I see if I have it?

This computer is over 2 years old.

You don't have it.
