About changing your taskbar and desktop...

I saw this thing over at /wg/ and was wondering if you guys could tell me which programs are needed to change your computer like that.

Mostly, what's the program at the top of the desktop (someone said Konfabulator) and how do you change the bar below. This desktop is quite awesome and I'd love any info you guys could give me.

I never got Y's Dock to work. It would flicker, the corners wouldn't draw correctly, and the transparency was slightly broken. Anyway, all these gimmicks are shit. In the end I just went with a minimalist Geoshell setup. Who needs to know the weather 24/7? You'll spend all that time behind the computer anyway. Why Winamp AND a plugin? Why use your CPU cycles and RAM to display flashy graphs of CPU and RAM use?
