FN key not working >.<

the FN key on my laptop is not working.  I have a vgn-fs740 and I'm not sure exactly wrong T_T.  I was diabling a few things through services btw.  Could it have anything through stick keys or whatever?

Well, duh. Keys don't work by magic. Special keys usually need a process monitoring them.

i have a gateway (emachines) 6510GZ and i think my Fn keys work at the hardware level.

Stick keys? If you are talking about sticky keys, they are not related to this.
Look for the services that came from your computer manufacturer and start them, and re-install the stuff provided with the computer.

Strange. I have also disabled some processes on my laptop -> multimedia keys stopped working. It doesn't bother me BUT fn-key is still working. I think (as >>3 said) it works on hardware level. Something like win-key. Does anyone know?

Yes, it is like Win-key. The key itself works on the hardware level (obviously). The key combos work on the software level (mostly). Some key combos might be set in hardware (backlight toggle, that kind of thing).
