Now you're thinking in portals

Name: Anonymous 2007-04-18 9:02 ID:L9MbJxHB

i don't know if this has already been posted, but when you expand a thread and then click a quote link (i.e >>24234237883) 4chan will return a 404 error. maybe you could rewrite the links upon expand so they just link to the current page with #postnumber added to the url, if you know what i mean

Hey, can anyone tell me how to get this extension off my browser bar?

Name: Anonymous 2007-04-19 17:53 ID:pdZ4VsrR

The extension just stopped working. The 4chan menu is blank and all of the features are gone. I have no idea whats wrong with it.

>>607
Works here.  Although it did stop working a few days again when 4chan was incredibly slow.

Portage. Think in portage.

Can anyone help me? I'd really like this thing off, yeah...so is there an option in the drag down bar or something to get rid of it?

Name: Anonymous 2007-04-21 13:22 ID:OoWG9eKx

I suggest we ditch the extension and make it a part of the site.

Such logical conclusions are not welcome here

I assume you are >>606 or you are makeing no sense

>>611
Nah, this javascript faggotry should not be forced on everyone. Not all of it would be fesable or possible in page-level javascript anyway.

Combine not4chan grab with the 4chan extension so I don't have to scroll down the n4cg list matching picture names for the one I want.

Name: Anonymous 2007-05-02 17:45 ID:JEnW0sZK

The interstitial ads have stopped showing up for me. This seems... well, it's nicer for the viewing experience, but I also don't wanna rob 4chan of revenue.

Also: could the homepage (as given by tools->add-ons->rightclick on 4chan->homepage) be set to the wrathfilledhate one?

Interesting, thanks.

A lot of the functions should be in the board itself and not as an addon to a specific browser. For example inline image expansion, inline thread expansion, report buttons for each post, and quick reply. They could be simply done in JS/AJAX...

Some other functions can only be done in a browser extension and they are still useful and it's good there's an extension, but why not give the above features to users of all browsers?

I think what >>624 is trying to say is, people who use browsers other than Firefox are inferior, and as such you are a fag for suggesting that they deserve the benefits afforded us real users exclusively.

because users should not be forced to use a javascript-heavy site. Some users don't like it and shouldn't have to disable javascript to not use it. Also cross-browser javascript is a pain.

Can anyone tell me what I should do if I moved the thread watcher off the side of the screen? I could fix it by reinstalling firefox but I'm sure most people wouldn't want to do that to fix something so small.

type about:config into your address bar.

look through the list (or use the filter) for 4chan.tw_inline_pos_x and 4chan.tw_inline_pos_y

set 4chan.tw_inline_pos_x to 9
set 4chan.tw_inline_pos_y to 32

reload your page.

I was wondering, many times I have gone to my address bar to type in /f/, /b/, /etc/ (don't ask why I do this, I don't know)
so basically, just a feature request

I've noticed that this extensions breaks the duckroll warning system for Greasemonkey. Now, the warning system might be a bit to general for the extension, but something along the lines of:

>>postinexternalthread [External thread]

Would be nice, and perhaps useful in boards other than /b/ as well :)

If you do implement this, putting the "[External...]" part in a color other than the standard green used for quotes would be awesome.

Name: Anonymous 2007-05-20 20:08 ID:ySaZQ4TV

>>631
what the fuck? that would destroy duckroll forever. this isn't slashdot.

Name: Anonymous 2007-05-20 20:18 ID:UQeCeTMO

>>632
>that would destroy duckroll forever
You say that like it's a bad thing. Currently I check the link out by hovering my mouse above it, so this would only lessen the strain on my eyes.

Seriously though, it would be nice to have that notification so a new page doesn't blow up in your face when you expect to find something related in the thread you're reading, and I'm not referring to just *rolls and /b/.

Name: Anonymous 2007-05-21 19:53 ID:sNTpbCkv

Suggestion:
Give the ability to add a comment or custom title to threads on the thread watcher.
That wouldn't be hard, would it? Maybe you could make it so when you click on the thread title (or lack thereof) of a thread, it would turn into a text entry box allowing you to add or delete whatever you want.

Name: Anonymous 2007-05-24 1:19 ID:sMUPtQ8k

Dunno if that was already requested, but:
Make a new checkbox-option "Show left frame" or something. It really pisses me off to have that bar on the left when clicking on /b/ in the menu. That much, that I just use the extension for having that neat Quick Reply function, but I still always enter img.4chan.org/b/imgboard.html manually in the adress bar.

There should be an option that does that in the config. I can't remember what I called it, something to do with frames anyway.

Which config? about:config?
Or in one of the source files of the package?

Ah, found it myslf in about:config
I set 4chan.chan_frames to "false" and they're gone. I just wonder what exactly the other option "4chan.ch_frames" does...

Tools > Add-ons/Extensions > right click on the 4chan extension > settings. The 4chan.ch_frames is/was for world4ch (now dis.4chan.org).
