They change the urls from bin. to zip. (back to how it was) and I've been away for a couple of days so didn't update the board xml. it should be working now, if not shout at me.
as for the disabling of the image expanding:
short answer: moot asked me to, it might come back.
long answer: the way in which the images are accessed is changing so it may not be possible for the feature to work any more. I think moot will be making a news post about it when the change happens, so I'll leave it to him to explain it, since I don't really understand it. If it turns out that the feature is still possible then I'll change it to make it work.

also: if you still want the feature for the short time it will still work, you could always go back to the last version.

Thanks for the explanation and the link to the previous version of the tool.
If I may be so bold, please let it get back to moot that the thread tracker and image expander are the two biggest thinks keeping me loyal to 4chan rather than focusing equally on the other chan boards - they're both just so damn convenient!

moot can burn in a fire. i will keep mah inline images.
My Image expander isn't working right. It opens in new tabs, but if I bring down a thread with "Omitted" posts it will work right after that? I am completely confused why this is happening?
what happened to the opening 4chan toolbar links into new tabs

Need inline image expansion!
Suggestion: I think it should be quite easy to implement the image expansion but still allow the one "active interstitial advertisement".
Could you not just have the plugin open a picture in a new tab once a day, and then revert back to the normal inline image expansion after that requirement is fulfilled? Perhaps the plugin could have a trigger that is automatically set to "On" when it checks with the 4chan serverside time and discovers it is a new day, and sets to "Off" once the active interstitial advertisement is used.
I'm positive that there is some way to include the inline image expansion feature with the changes that moot has deemed absolutely necessary.
It was one of the most useful features!

I agree, I think I'll be able to come up with something that will expand images, and not screw the site by not showing the adds. The way I think it will work, is that the when you click on an image to expand it will decide/find out if it's time to show an add or not and show it if necessary, perhaps in a new tab, rather than expanding the image. You'd then have to click the image again to expand it.
I'll have to speak with coda to lean the specifics of how it works, but I should be able to get something working.

Just wanna let you know that Firefox doesn't pick up on the fact that 0.4.4.4 is available when you tell it to check for extension updates.

I haven't updated the auto-updater yet, that will have to wait until I'm home this evening.
>>495
what kind of errors? what Firefox version? "it gives me errors" is no help at all.
>>488
if you mean with the left click? then it was a bug. middle click opens in a new tab.

I did RTFThread, but I'd just like to say I would really like to see the image expander feature back. Maybe you can figure out a way to make the daily interstitial load in a tab while still displaying the image inline? I miss it like I'd miss tabbed browsing if it suddenly ceased to be. :(

since 0.4.4.0, whenever i went to the 4chan menu in the menubar, it would open whichever link i selected in a new unfocused tab as opposed to loading it in the tab i was currently in
that feature is gone now

Is that different to how middle clicking is now? Other than, I think, it gives focus to the new tab, which is Firefox's default. I think I added an option to switch the left and middle buttons around so that left click opens in a new tab and middle click in the active window, it should still work.

When browsing from a laptop, the touchpad might not have a middle button. Also, at least for me, activating/deactivating the "switch mouse behaviour" option has no effect.

I've been having the same problem as >>499, but I think the problem lies more with change from Firefox 1.5 to 2.0. As soon as I changed versions, I began experiencing the problems. No matter what (recent) version of you extension I have run, I can never get it to operate correctly in 2.0. Furthermore, 2.0 also seems to break the menu at the top of the browser, too. Nothing bad, just the 4 leaves logo overlaps the text it's next too, but the problem is visual as opposed to affecting something practical.

I liked when the image replies would just expand when I clicked on them instead of opening up a new tab with the image in it. This started happening as soon as I downloaded the new tool set, but the image expansion thing doesn't work anymore even with the old tool set, because of the different between the Thumbnail url and the filename url, due to the whole eBay crappiness.

so.. what am I doing wrong if I've updated to the latest official extension, but have after some fifty or more clicks not yet gotten the ad redirect?

If you had read any of the following you would know that this is how it should be, for now :(
* the tools page where you got the extension.
* the front page
* some of the posts above this one
when I click on an image for inline image expanding, it will give me a broken image picture unless I open the image in a new tab.
I've noticed that the inline image will open the image with a URL of http://img.4chan.org/b/src.cgi/1168559661687.jpg
Apparently, the .cgi is wrong. how would I fix this?

would it be possible to have it autodetect futaba boards and try to use it's features there also?
>>511
What other boards use the futaba script? other than 2chan and other Japanese boards? I think pretty much all of the none-4chan English boards use wakaba which produces different html, so I would have to modify the extension accordingly, which is probably a bit of work.
I've started redesigning the extension to be more expendable and would allow for other board types to be supported, but this is a lot of work, and I don't know if I will ever finish it.
>>514
it should only show you that when you first install/update the extension, and once every day. If you're outside the US then you will be taken straight to the image (in the new tab), this isn't ideal but its the only way it could be done.
Here's a suggestion for a feature:
something to 'expand all' images on that page. It would make the chore of viewing all of the images in any long thread very easy.
