That happens when the page is corrupted. The extension assumes that page won't be corrupted, so it breaks when it is. I plan to rewrite the parser so that those errors shouldn't happen.
Also there will be a new (very minor) update coming soon. There is going to be an add where the thread watcher currently is, so I've made it so it can be dragged around, so you can put it where you want. It's not great, but it will do 'till the next real version.

your extension kicks major ass.
what about a "hide post" feature? for not having to scroll through those huge blocks of "kneading tits" or "a huge gaping vagina the size of a hallway" some people post in /b/ everytime you refresh the page.

The floating thread watcher box is kick ass.
It would be nice if the box showed up on the "Error: Thread specified does not exist" page too, though. That way you could delete the dead thread from your list and navigate to a new one from the error page.

When using the iFox theme in windows xp, version 1.5, the toolbar is all blacked-out, switching to the default solves this.

I don't see why not. I have thought about making it auto-remove threads from the thread watcher when they are deleted.

I am aware of this and I've tried to fix it in the past, I think its because the menu uses a background image. Also the iFox theme breaks the config menu, and I have no idea why that is.
Hey DamageInc, I figured out how to add more boards to the 4chan extension. would it be alright if I shared the info with the others?

you know how in densha otoko drama the thread refreshed whenever someone made a post in a thread, ive always wanted something like that. I dont know if its possible but it would be a good side option.

is there something that preserves the filename of an image when you save it instead of 1679815783217589275982.png ?

I guess I don't mind (since I can't stop you anyway). I assume you're just hacking the xml files and changing the urls in the extension? The problem is that many of the board urls will be changing soon and its likely that the xml will change with later versions. Talk to me on IRC if you want more info, or something.

I assume they're using ajax, I couldn't do that with 4chan, it would have to be build into the server. Well, not without refreshing the page in the background every few seconds and updating the page afterwards, but that would put too much strain on the servers.

I've been thinking about doing something like this. perhaps add a button, or add an item to the context menu or something that allows you to save the image with its original name.

I also had to hack the .js file to point to modified XML files I stuck on my local server, otherwise it'd just ignore the local XML files and grab them from your site. I might hack up a quick PHP script that'll grab the XML file from you, then append my board additions.

Some people have reported this, I haven't managed to find the problem. Did you install any new extensions or change anything before it stopped working? I can't fix it because I can't replicate the bug :(
>>52
are they still not working? I'll need some more info.

Not sure if it's extentsion related but some boards such as /e/ and /wg/ (among others) will not load from the drop-down menu, only when I click on the link on-top of another board will it load.
I love this extension, but my thread expansion and movable thread watcher have never worked since their own respecive implementations. Ever. The expansion was just kinda something not that bad in the first place, but the default location for threadwatcher partially obscures my name field. I figured it was just randomly not working at all, though after reading this, it seems to be a real bug.
Well, I disabled all my extensions and it worked. Went back and selectively enabled them, I currently have it pinpointed. The only thing I have disabled is "IE Tab" and they both work again. I'm in love all over again.
I have a suggestion, though it may be too complex.
How about a thread RECORD feature?
It would allow you to mark a thread to be watched automatically by your browser while you're away at a set time interval. In essence, it would check the thread every so often, save a copy from your cache, rinse and repeat, until the thread "no longer exists" or you take it off your record list.
Yeah, sounds overly complex, and I'm sure someone would set the interval to some ridiculously low time frame, thus raping 4chan with page requests.
I've seen a lot of cool threads that seem to build up incredible content, then die before I get to read it all. :(
I've been thinking of writing a separate application to do that myself, because there are tons of threads that I miss all over the place. I haven't gotten around to it because I'm lazy.
It's probably going to double as a Thread Packager, so that when a thread is archived it will also grab any linked images like DownThemAll does - if you've enabled that.
I have no idea when that's going to be done, probably never, but we'll see

I've thought about adding an archiving feature. probably saving a thread to xml with an option to convert to xhtml. perhaps it would create a library of threads that you could view in firefox. but I haven't really thought about how, though it doesn't really sound too taxing.
For a 'record' feature, that might be better as a seperate app, as a-san suggests, or using exists ones (cron, wget etc), rather than having to keep the browerser open? Also this could easliy be used to leach , which is something I want to avoid.

Is it okay if you post details on how to do this? I'd love to add some boards from some of the other image boards I go to.

I use Slogger in general. But you could set it to only save stuff from *.4chan.org.
If I want to save files to an easily-findable place, I just use DTA.

This'll probably make me sound like a total nub, but wtf is xpi?
Name:
Anonymous2006-04-06 3:26
XPI is the extension for Firefox plugins. Run it and Firefox should open it, drag the file into the Extensions Manager list.
Can someone hit me up with that .xml file link to reload so that the new boards work with the plugin? I forgot it.
