Hey... HAXORS LOL

Nothing big, I just got the WEP at my school so I could play Mario Kart DS during study hall over the INTERBUTT. But there's a problem.

I am absolutely sure the WEP I sniffed is the correct one. I tried it on my friend's laptop, and got internet access. The Apple Airports at my school don't have SSID cloaking, and I can see them fine on the DS--even get good signals, too. The big issue I'm having here is getting the connection to actually *connect*.

Is there anyway of viewing the Airport settings without soft-reseting the base station password, which consequently wipes the settings? (I already did this to one, and I nearly had a heart attack the next day when I saw the I.T. guy carrying it back to his office to reconfigure it.) Like, are there any methods that I can use to find out things like I.P. ranges, MAC settings, DNS, etc?

It's relevant to your interests though. I know it.

I would assume that they're MAC filtering, which means (1) you need to get the MAC of your DS accepted by the network, or you need to change the MAC of your DS to one that's allowed.

I don't think this guy would be able to get in to every single router to change their MAC settings. I don't know how to change a MAC address on a DS, so I can't help you.

Pretty sure you can't even change a DS's MAC address, and the only other alternative would be to get into the actual system and have it accept the DS's address, as suggested. Easier said than done. I've tried this as well, it's a shame that most hotspots are so tightly bolted down that it's impractical/impossible to actually take advantage of them!

Bumping doesn't do your thread any good if the average /comp/ front-page-thread life is about 4-6 days. Just be patient and stop refreshing :\
