USB Networking

The ethernet card for my laptop recently died, and it's vitually useless to me without network.

I was wondering if there was any drivers out there that could create a network, or drive for filesharing between computers over a USB male-male connector.

I should note that I'd prefer a linux or windows method of doing this. Thanks.

Not exactly. USB to USB requires a box in the middle to negotiate the transport of data, so you'll be shelling out there (I used to have one to transfer stuff between my laptop and desktop (neither of which had ethernet ports at that time) before I switched to wireless networking). You'd be better off buying a USB or PCMCIA ethernet adapter to replace the dead inbuilt ethernet, really. Even a cheap PCMCIA adapter should suffice.

Don't change these.
