Dear World4ch,
Yesterday, as I was trying to connect to teh Internet using my sweet sweet Streamyx broadband, I find that the computer just outright refuses to connect. It just stays "Conecting through WAN Miniport (PPPOE)" forever, untill the "Connecting port... error <some number>" message came out.
That's a normal thing to happen to my modem since sometime last year, and being a cheapskate that I am, I just leave it be for 10 to 30 minutes to reconnect by itself (and it always works). But since yesterday, the modem just doesn't connect. Even after leaving it to reconnect by itself for the whole 12 hours. So... anyone here have met with the similar problems before? Or have any solutions for this? Can I send the modem for some guy to repair it, or must I spend 200 bucks or so (Telekom sells the exact same model that I use, the one that they gave out for free around 2 years ago for RM150) to buy a new modem?
ps: oh, and out of frustration, I opened my modem this morning, and found that one of the coiled thingy (it's a small square shaped plastic part with thin copper coils around it) have one of its connectors broken. Could that have been the problem?
