PSP/Router Issues

Clearing this up beforehand, I'm a retard when it comes to just about anything, especially the interworkings of computers. Alright, I'm using a Linksys Wireless-G Broadband router. (Model WRT54G)I use a laptop directly connected to the router, it's for the desktop I use in another room. I never had to install anything to make the router work, it was kind of just plug it in, install the recieving thing, and end of story. But I got a nice PSP the other day and decided to try and connect to the internet to update it. "Access point not detected." Over and over again. I assume I need to input the SSID or something like that, but I have no idea to get that, never having to have installed anything for the main router. Erm. Explain to me how I'm going to go about doing that. Anyway for those of you with ADD:

-PSP's infrastructure no worky. Can't get network update to 2.0 from 1.50. Don't know how to set the PSP to recieve from my wireless router. Do I have to screw around and reinstall the router and everything again just to set an SSID or something? Thanks. :D

Log into the router's administration panel using a Web browser. Check the instructions for the IP (usually it's 192.168.0.0 or 192.168.0.1) and type it into your address bar. The login should be in the instructions too, or Google around for it (usually it's something like "admin" and "password," which you should change). Your wireless AP settings, including SSID, should be in there.

Gah, FFS. Didn't work. I now have the exact SSID, but it still says that the access point isn't detected. That would have to be an issue with the actual router then, wouldn't it? Anything else to do that is blantantly obvious?
