1. Not to use Internet Explorer
2. Spybot and Ad-aware
3. RegCleaner
4. Crap Cleaner (CCleaner)
Defragmenting will NOT free up any space you noobs! Shit man, every user seems to think defragmenting frees up space and formatting cleans viruses. What the fuck.

Forgot to mention, the 4 things I suggested are free.
Also ad into that list Webroots SpywareSweeper.. its 30Trial only, but its a clean uninstall and can be done when you are suspicious that Adaware and Spybot didnt get them all.
Anyone have comments on System Mechanic? I've used it a few times for a few machines and didnt really notice anything bad from it, but i'm not sold on recommending it to folks yet.

You said "clean", and a filesystem defragmenter doesn't "clean" anything. Fucking noob.

Defragging is still an important part of computer housekeeping though.
Clean as in to keep things orderly, even on shitty filesystems. Fucking noob.

It doesn't "keep things orderly" from a logical and user point of view. Functionality is the same, being fragmented or not, and NTFS doesn't need defragmenting so often.
