OSX Tiger for X86 machines

Name: Anonymous 2005-11-15 21:11

I just heard about this today and it sparked my interests, being someone who's used Windows and has always been fascinated by OSX.

Has anyone managed to install it on their machine and try stuff out? What are your harware specs if so?

The minimum requirements to run Mac OSX for x86 when i tried it was..

a x86-Class CPU with support for minimum SSE2, Recommended: SSE3 support.

So SSE3 mostly means that most P4s of the later era, or equal AMD's are usable. non-SSE2/SSE3 simply won't run Mac OSX for x86. I hope my post was helpful :)
