how do i prevent audio from playing from a specific program?

is there any tools out there that let you do this?

like i have this program minimized and it still produce sound out of my speaker, but i dont want to hear it and instead open winamp
so how do i mute that specific program...

Uh...just exit that program? What program is it? What does it do? And is there not just an option within it to turn off sounds? You can't individually control whether one program produces sound or not unless there is an explicit mute/disable option in that program.
