Basic 3D Program w/o the $$$

I got this friend of mind who asked me about a 3-D program that does basic animation. The thing is, she doesn't have alot of money to spend $100 or $200, so something very basic 3-D program that mainly is for making 3-D people/cars/thing and make them move. Nothing fancy like a landscaper or 3-D world maker, or anything like that.
