Hey guys, is this normal?

I use AVG and I accidentally emptied the virus vault. So, I did a scan again do detect all of the virus and the two trojan horses, I think. And then I remembered that I couldn't heal them anyway so I clicked on "go to file" and just deleted them.

Well after I did that I, all of these weird extra files started showing up on my pc and most of them are transparent, like the icon for them looks transparent. In folders that I have thumbnails for and whatnot, it makes a transparent thumbnail icon. I can delete that one. But sometimes there'll be a transparent desktop icon in some places and if I try to delete that one, it says "Your computer or one of your programs may no longer work correctly."

And also, after deleting the virus files, I finally found my Data Application folders. I have never seen them on my pc since I got it before today.

I've used Registry Mechanic, etc. to try and fix the problem even though I have no clue what's going on.

Please help before I go insane.

Just sounds like you folder settings were set to show hidden files and folders. Them being transparent is just it's way of telling you that it's attribute is normally hidden, but you have it set to be shown anyway.

Yeah, if it looks like a ghost (i.e. half see-through), then it's a hidden file.  If you go to "C:\Documents and Settings\<user>", where <user> is your log in name, you'll see a bunch of hidden folders, such as Application Data and Local Settings.

In an Explorer window, go to Tools > Folder Options...  Go to the View tab, and under the Advanced settings scroll box, tick Do not show hidden files or folders.  That should rectify things.

Your PC is haunted. The ghosts of all the files you've ever deleted are coming back to haunt you.

I agree. Hiding system files and hiding file extensions is for retarded lusers, and the worst feature of Windows Explorer ever.

Wow this whole thread sounds like a new tv show that's coming up.
Its called "The Computer Whisperer"
Its about a computer repair man who gets hit in the head with a hard drive , and suddenly believes he can hear voices from computers telling him whats wrong with them.
The first episode is really quite dramatic, with the opening sequence is of the man having a nightmare about Bill Gates computer telling him that there is questionable pornography on its hard drive.

Bullshit, questionable pornography is fun for everyone, including the computer.

Don't change these.
