Hi-Speed USB 2.0

Name: Anonymous 2005-10-07 19:49

Hi i'm wondering if anybody can help me with my problem.

Whenever i connect a usb device system pops up with an icon stating the device could transfer faster if i connected it to a hi=speed usb 2.0 port and to click here to see if i have any. which i don't according to the device manager.

However on checking my device manager  i do have:

Standard OpenHCD USB Host Controller
USB Root Hub

PCI Class USB 2.0 Enhanced Host Controller (don't recall having this as i have none of my pci expansion slots used)

and

USB 2.0 Root Hub Device.

On a side note when i installed windows it was without service pack 1 so there wasn't any USB 2 support "out the box" however i have upgraded to service pack. What i'm really asking i suppose is, by Hi-speed USB 2.0 is i t referring to what i know as "USB2" or is it entirely different as i have no clue :(

Plug it into every USB orifice that's on your computer.  If all of them bitch about YUO CAN GET FASTAR SPEDS, then you don't have any USB 2.0 devices.  However, some devices report themselves as USB 2.0, yet they only go Full-Speed, particularly USB 2.0 "compliant" off-brands.  Buyer beware.

plugged it into every one, i'm sure it is USB 2.0 compliant motherboard as when i installed Windows XP 64bit edition (which did have service pack1) i didn't have any problems what so ever.

Incase it helps my motherboard is a DFi lanparty NF4 SLi-DR.

Don't change these.
