Capturing a DVD screenshot

Name: Anonymous 2005-10-03 20:10

How do you do it? I'm using MPC to play DVD. Tried using MPC to save the pic, but I get an error. I remember programs PowerDVD or WinDVD had ways to save the pic, but I'd rather not install that right now.

Figured out one way to do it: Turn hardware acceleration down to none.

You don't have to do that, just go options, output, and don't use Overlay; set it to VMR 9 renderless. It'll take more CPU to play videos, but colors will look better, you'll be able to take screenshots, and you'll be able to enable MPC's advanced features like shaders.

I believe you can also take them regardless of output mode with FFDSHOW (which, I hope and recommend, is what you are using).

Don't change these.
