Random pixels appear, what the hell?! ;_;

That's right, check picture:

It started today for no apparent reason, after i closed photoshop, random pixels (magenta, black, red, green) appear in desktop, toolbars, sometimes the cursor...and even icons look corrupted...fonts as well...they even appear in videos (again, check picture...and when i run them in full screen, it looks awful, like..multi colored snow) tried scandisk but no good ;_;

Sometimes refreshing teh desktop (F5) fixed that, but after a while they appear again, the location is random.

Funny thing is...if i run any game in full screen (Say..Melty Blood), it looks fine (no stray pixels during the program)

Any ideas?
Working on a Toshiba satellite laptop here, Nvidia G-Force FX video card, 512 MB Ram, running out of HDD space, but i doubt that's an issue.

It could be a driver issue - try reinstalling and updating your drivers (try the Toshiba website first). Also try reinstalling DirectX.

corrupt codec perhaps

Done, done and done...still no good.
Reinstalled pretty much all video-related stuff, also, i didn't mentioned this before, but at times, there's a loss of performance during video playback.

Sounds like your video card is shagged then. Bad luck.

I doubt it, i mean, there's no loss of performance during games, and they look fine, no stray pixels or anything, eveything is normal...but back on windows...ugh.

Great all of a sudden, all the PC's in myhouse decide to malfunction somehow..

Anyways, thanks for the replies.

try fudging around in the bios? maybe increase the AGP voltage.

I had a similar problem with an old Riva TNT card with bad memory. I'd have to let it run for a while before the pixel loss would go away. No real way to fix it either ... >.>

Try turning off AGP Fast Writes. It makes some unstable video cards go FUBAR pretty quick. Those look like artifacts and while I've never had them in video playback before, but before I disabled Fast Writes I used to get all sorts of wierd shit in video games (part of a tree would suddenly be 1000 feet tall, random flahing white trinagles, etc) and then my computer would crash.

I'm not sure if i can acess the bios, instead, all i get is some screen to boot from different devices.

The ram and videocard are firmly attached, so that's not an issue.

I'll try to re-install DirectX again. i use a different uninstaller this time.

Also, i'm not sure if Adobe Gamma has anything to do with this (Since as i mentioned, it happened after working with Photoshop)
