Suggestions for PC

Name: Anonymous 2005-08-25 0:37

I'm looking into finding a PC that's decent for cheap (sub 400 preferably.) Can anyone suggest some sites to look through to find such a thing. I'm looking for something relatively new Sempron/64/P4/Celeron/XP are all fine.
Including decent hardware like onboard lan, >=80gb, 512mb ram, and DVD-+RW and Monitor. Any idea where something like that might be found for <400 or where I can start looking?

I've already started looking around pricewatch.com, pricegrabber, and tigerdirect.

Shit, I doubt you're going to get all that for sub-$400. Celerons maybe, and maybe some older Semprons and Pentium 4s. LCD monitors are expensive too, unless you were looking into CRTs.

$400 with monitor?

LOL

Even with the shittiest monitor ever made, it ain't gonna happen.

You should be able to build one within that budget if you're careful. It won't be a killer, and you'll have to go for a Sempron rather than an A64, cheap motherboard, CRT.

Slightly above 400$ with monitor. But seriously, I'm poor and i'm seriously considering buying a cheap Laptop from Walmart. Mainly cause allit's gonna be is for internet/gaming between classes at college. Fallout, NWN, Baldur's Gate ... you know, the kinds that really don't require CPU or RAM.

a cheap laptop from walmart will turn into an expensive paperweight from walmart really fast.

Don't change these.
