I've found that coming into any new technology you're not familiar with is pretty fucking dangerous on numerous levels. Is there anything that you didn't know before your first wireless network that you learned by hazard or accident?

I'm learning that wireless is a bitch on Linux. I can't get any type of encryption to work. The card actually seems to authenticate to the AP, according to my router's log, but wpa_cli just sits there and times out, and I get an "unable to configure ath0 in the background" error.

I learned that I don't care about encryption, because why should I give a damn if my wife's laptop gets haxxored by the neighbours?

I learned to stay away from Belkin hardware. It's given me nothing but grief.
