A friend of mine has a problem with XP home. He starts up the computer it shows the black screen where XP loads, with a green bar thing. Right as it gets done, and tries to get to the next screen it reboots by itself. What could be the problem? I've checked for virii but haven't found any. Suggestions?

Check your logs for boot messages.

Will it boot into safe mode?

if a blue screen flickers really fast, its a memory dump glitch i think

check your bios for misconfigurations, check the temps in there too

run memtest86, leave only one memory module in at a time, swap it to different slots

sounds hardware related, likely bad ram

Don't change these.
