For some reason Azureus has trouble connecting to seeds or peers. I am able to connect to a handful, but not enough to get any decent speeds. I use the same port on Bitcomet and I'm able to connect to more and download faster. Is there some settings in Azureus that should be changed from default?

Azureus works fine for me. There's an option that limits the max amount of connected peers by default. You can set it to whatever your router can handle, or remove the cap altogether.
