Are there any real good tips/tricks I need to know?

Aiii, where to begin? I've been using Opera daily for almost a decade, and yet I still find out new things about it quite often...

Gestures are handy.
And it's really good at browsing porn galleries.

My best recommendation is to first customize the interface for yourself, then go read http://my.opera.com/community/tips/ and either http://tntluoma.com/opera/lover/7/ or the newer (and incomplete) http://operalover.tntluoma.com/8/

The most important thing to learn in Opera is to make its tab system work with you, not against you, as its behavior is not as intuitive as Firefox's one, but allows for more efficient browsing once you know your way around it.

Set http://members.chello.nl/b.kroonspecker/opera/styles/user/AdBlocker.css as your user stylesheet

Set up UserJS and get some stuff from http://userjs.org and http://userscripts.org/

Both of the first two links are dated but help make Opera cooler and better

Stop talking like you know anything. If you use a mac but don't use Safari, at best you're a closet hetero.

Don't change these.
