svchost.exe memory usage is bothering me

Name: Anonymous 2005-08-03 21:27

In my task manager, there are multiple svchosts (I know they're from the services, and that they're nothing to be worried about), however I find that all of them are around 2000-3000K Memory Usage, but one of them is consistently at 16000-20000K, any particular reason why this one is MUCH larger than the others? Anything I can do to prevent it? For the most part, I use Black Viper's "SAFE" services guide, and I've disabled several services-- however I never really noticed svchost being this big in the past.

if you're concerned about what services your SVChost.exe is running, go into the command line and type "tasklist /SVC" to view the list of stuff svchost is managing.

It handles services for stuff like AIM, Firefox, and your shell, so 20k isn't all that weird.

Don't change these.
